What does it signify?
What is its essence?
Does it suggest that, in our quest for validation and self-worth, we rely on others to acknowledge our existence? As if we need their radiance to shine upon us?
Or should it imply that we must cultivate the confidence to be at ease among those who can cast their light upon us?
Shine your light on me,
See me!
Are we not inherently driven to be seen? Is it not in our nature to yearn for acknowledgment?
The engagement of the world around us is there for us to feel a part of, to be one. We are one, often not seen as one.
Shine your light on me,
Shine your light on the shadows that encase us, our spirit. Reveal the beauty that lies within, hidden from the world and even ourselves,
For in the glow of our acceptance, we find peace, solace and warmth.
Shine your light on me,
Make our existence meaningful,
Let me stand in the radiance of your understanding,
In that radiant embrace, we find unity, for we are not alone.
Shine your light on me,
In the shared illumination of connection,
We become more than mere individuals,
We become a tapestry of human stories, intertwined and complete.
