Gavin Kendo
Nairobi-based visual artist Gavin Kendo works at the intersection of painting, illustration, and emotional storytelling. Drawing from vivid dreams and childhood memory, his surreal, nature-infused compositions explore identity, rest, and humanity's connection to the natural world — offering a vision of a healed Africa, free from inherited colonial trauma.
Lona Ndzimande
Cape Town-based artist Lona Ndzimande creates layered, mixed-media portraits that celebrate Black womanhood, femininity, and self-expression. Drawing from her Zulu upbringing and working with materials including acrylic, glass beads, fabric, and paper collage, her work balances intimacy, defiance, and joy — building bold archives of Black femininity that honour tradition while engaging critically with contemporary life.
Ayola Goxo
South African artist Ayola Goxo works across surrealist composition and geometric painting, translating scattered inner thoughts into visceral, carefully constructed images. A 2024 SAFFCA residency alumni and 2025 WORLDART10 winner, Goxo's practice continues to evolve across a broad and dynamic visual language.
Zolile Petshane
Zolile Petshane is one of South Africa's most respected and revered abstract artists. His latest body of work, Brick by Brick, turns the language of economics into visceral, layered abstraction, and looks to the trader, the entrepreneur and the hustler for the answer.
John Adams
Painter and cutting-edge creative John Adams works at the intersection of portraiture and expressive abstraction, layering classical figuration with raw texture, spray paint, and gestural mark-making. His recent body of work, The Heart, pays tribute to the women who have built Africa — the grandmothers, single mothers, and intercessors whose quiet strength has been the unseen infrastructure of the continent. Through oil portraiture overlaid with interruption and noise, Adams bears witness to resilience, honouring those who emerge not despite the breaking, but through it.
SIBUSISO NGWAZI
Praying Mantis is a body of work rooted in the cultural, spiritual, and physical landscape of Cape Town's Bo-Kaap. Through sweeping gestures and rhythmic compositions, the collection explores the threshold where sacred reverence meets fluid movement — drawing on the daily echoes of prayer, the Nalayn Shareef, and the expressive textures of marbled calligraphy to create a choreographic dialogue between tradition and abstraction.
Faye Dubinski
Self-taught artist Faye Dubinski brings a lifelong sensitivity to movement and the body to her visual practice — rooted in a background spanning professional dance, theatre, and arts administration. Her recent body of work, Golf Fever, traces humanity's restless hunger for success, exploring how unchecked desire transforms aspiration into extraction, and abundance into emptiness.
Courtney
Rooted in years of professional makeup artistry for film and television, the artist behind Creatuft brings a deep understanding of colour, light, and texture to the world of fibre art. Using a tufting gun as their primary medium, they translate paint-like palettes and dynamic compositions into bold, tactile statements — shifting fluidly between expressive portraits and striking design pieces with genuine creative joy.
Gavin Larkin
Gavin Larkin creates fine art from figurative to complete abstraction, with much of his practice focused on experimenting with used and new materials and mediums while staying on the cutting edge of modern art.
Julian Hall
Julian Hall's Surface Studies explores material, texture and surface through a reduced visual language - combining acrylic paint with sand, dirt, concrete, and charcoal to investigate how different substances behave on canvas.
Sepid
Sechi Art Studio treats the book as something built and worn at the edges - forgotten books and handcrafted notebooks are folded and layered into sculptural installations that turn text into texture.
DION CUPIDO
Dion Cupido responds directly — and unapologetically - to the fractured realities of contemporary life, using painting as a space where ambiguity is not only allowed, but necessary.
Michael Oliver Love
Michael Oliver Love's Changing Shape explores the relationship between light and shadow — the sun's passage across the sky captured in fleeting, transformative moments.
HAGE MUKWENDJE
Hage Mukwendje is a Namibian visual artist based in Windhoek, working in mixed media that combines painting with newspaper collage to explore identity, history, and social narrative.
